I believe that Teacher pages on a website are extremely helpful and beneficial, when used and updated properly. Teacher pages are not as common in the higher levels of learning from all that I have been able find. Typically you see teacher pages for students who are solely in one classroom with one teacher only. After looking through some school websites, with teacher pages I see a lot in common. Typically you will find a description of who the teacher is and little about themselves. They can include where they graduated from, what degree they earned, why they are interested in teaching, some fun facts about them. By doing this, this allows more of a connection and feel for the teacher when you may know nothing about them first hand. On the teachers pages you can usually find a class schedule, homework and assignments, learning objectives, etc. Now that classes are almost all virtual now, we can also notice teachers have places for homework turn ins, questions, zoom office hours, etc. I am not a student for these schools so some information I cannot access without a login code such as grades or photos.

Mr. Duncan Classroom

Technology will be a vital part in my classroom as well as outside. As a teacher teaching is only a small part of my responsibilities. I will be facing classroom management, teacher development,  etc. I can use technology more now than ever to help me be able to stay organized, up to date, and in connection with students, parents, and other teachers. One example of a technology tool I will be planning on using is Zoom. We are all familiar with the app, but Zoom allows me to be able to join calls from near to far. This will help me with Teacher parent conferences, Teaching Conventions, as well as have office hours and meeting times for my students. It will keep me connected whether I am able to see the people in person or not.

PB Works, or Wiki Platform, to be completely honest was a little stressful to use for me. Although the editing and writing aspect was not quite difficult, navigating and connecting with my classmates was a little overwhelming to me. I was not originally the host for my group for the reason I knew that It would take me a while to figure it out because I am not the best with technology.. however plans fell through and I ended up being the host so it stressed me out more. I think when used right and understood how to use it could really be a beneficial site to use because of the interactiveness. I similarly could use Wiki like we did in this class as a way to get student connected. It is an easier way for group members to collaborate when all have access rather than only having one document on word that you have to send via email, make edits on your own, send back. It will save a lot of time.

In Assignment 3, where we were to create a web design what I thought was going to be very difficult ended up being something somewhat easy and simple to do and follow. I went in thinking I needed to be some computer software engineer but I was proven wrong. I learned how to create a web page with multiple files and pages, implement and common license, as well as format the themes on each page. It combined all that we have been learning up to this point in a website page form. There wasn't much that I disliked about the Assignment, only with the exception of trying to format and create columns and sections to make the page pleasing to the eye. I couldn't figure out how to create section boxes on a page. Overall, I think it was an easier to follow and do assignment than what I was expecting.  My Website Diigo after having been using it for a couple assignments now, has become easier and more familiar to me. to use. Diigo is a great source to create groups within your class or f...

Distance Learning was introduced to me at a very young age, but was not completely understood or used until now. When I was in middle school and high school, distance learning was used in school and out. My parents introduced me to KhanAcademy and other websites they would have to a lesson each weekend to get ahead. However other apps such as notability, IXL, FLVS, etc are just a few of the apps I was introduced to in high school. These apps helped me watch lessons, practice vocabulary skills, and learn more in a subject out of the classroom when the teacher was not with me. Now that Covid-19 has brought everyone into remote learning, Distance Learning is the new norm. I have been in asynchronous and synchronous classes. I honestly have really liked a lot about  distance learning. It allows me to learn at the comfort of my room, as well as more time for work and myself because I don't have to physically go to classes. However, it has created isolation from meeting new people ...

Going into EME I had no idea what Diigo was. After having to do a few assignments with it, causing me to navigate it and bookmark on it I can see why many teachers and classrooms choose to use it. Diigo allows me to see what others in my group have bookmarked. When they bookmark it allows me to go to the direct article or website they are looking at without me having to go search it up myself. This is a great tool when a class may all being looking into research or websites and we can all share ideas to help when one may be stuck. However, I have to be honest in the fact it seems a little too confusing for my liking. I am more simple when it comes to sharing whether that just be a huge group discussion post where everyone posts their website or in class. However I can see how diigo not only allows bookmarking but also notes that can help even more.  Blogging as well, was never something I saw myself doing..let alone in a class setting. Whenever I thought about blogging I was ...
