Copy Right and Fair Use..What and why does this matter? Copy Right is the using of material not belonging or created by you. Copy Right basically protects the "creators'" work. For example you can create a website, write a book, create a movie, paint a painting and if its your own original work it belongs to you, and you have the right to get a Copy Right to make sure no one can use your creation/ work without your permission or without pay. However there is Fair use. Not everything out there on the world wide web is an original. Do you ever go through instagram, youtube, tik tok, etc and see clips of someones video within a video? Or have you ever seen Vincent Van Gough'[s starry night painting within another piece of art work but ever so slightly different and serving as a different purpose? This is fair use. Fair Use means you are able to take a part but NOT ALL of a piece of work, rework it to be unique and different then before. Copy Right you HAVE to get permis...

Blog Journal 2

I cannot remember the last time I did not have a writing assignment where I had to use Microsoft Word. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. was introduced to me in "Computer Class" when I was in elementary school, that being almost 9 years ago. In Computer class we were taught how to navigate through each application and had to do assignments to show how we used what we learned on the application. This followed me through middle school, high school, and now college. Although my learning about how to navigate through and use Microsoft ended after middle school, the knowledge I gained from these classes show through every assignment I have done in each.  My main choice of application is Microsoft Word. Because of how I have grown up using and learning about how to use it, it is what I am most comfortable using. ISTE Standards for Educators is something unfamiliar with me until now. I believe as someone, like many others, who has pretty much grown up using technology as a wa...

Hi,  my name is Caroline Poole and I am a current sophomore in college. I am studying Public health, as of right now, in hopes of going Pre-Med. I have always wanted to be a Sports Medicine Physician because I am very passionate about sports and working out, as well as helping others medically because I was raised with two parents in the medical field. However I see a small problem with this dream of mine...that being my biggest fear is needles. I am keeping my options and mind open to see what could potentially interest me as a future career but whatever that may be I hope it involves helping others in some form or fashion. I have pretty much grown up always using some form of technology in my education and schooling. I use to use computers at school to take Accelerated Reading tests, I eventually had computer classes where they taught you how to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel(the one I never could understand) and I would use those to create presentations and papers for cla...
